"Santa Pudenziana was the daughter of Pudens, and with her sister Prassede, used to run into the Colosseum to sop up the blood of the martyrs, then run out before being caught. You can see the well here in the church where they would hide these relics.
The apse mosaic is one of the earliest in Rome and is one of the first examples of the 4 Evangelists being depicted by the symbols (lion, ox, man, eagle)
In the first chapel on the left (often locked) there was a Eucharistic Miracle that took place.
If you walk around to the left of the main altar, there's a chapel with a piece of wood under the altar - this is a piece from the table where Peter celebrated Mass. The other part is in the main altar of St. John Lateran."

"The church was built on the site of the home of Saint Pudentiana's father, Senator Pudens. The house was converted into a church in the 4th century, and it was later expanded and renovated. The church was given the title of basilica in the 12th century.
The Basilica di Santa Pudenziana is a beautiful example of early Christian architecture. The interior of the church is decorated with mosaics, frescoes, and paintings. The main apse mosaic depicts the Christ Pantocrator, surrounded by the Virgin Mary, Saint Pudentiana, and Saint Praxedes. The church also houses the relics of Saint Pudentiana and Saint Praxedes."
