"The Kramář Villa, located on the site of the former St. Thomas bastion of the Prague city walls, was commissioned by Karel Kramář in 1911. Kramář, a prominent political figure who served as the first Prime Minister of Czechoslovakia, wanted a residence that would integrate aesthetically with the panorama of Prague Castle. The villa, designed by Viennese architect Bedřich Ohmann, features a blend of Neo-Baroque and Art Nouveau styles, boasting 56 rooms, including a grand dining hall and a hall adorned with Byzantine mosaics.
The construction took four years, during which Kramář had to adhere to conditions that limited the building's height and ensured its visual harmony with the surrounding landscape. Two smaller staff houses and a tennis court complement the villa, which showcases intricate interiors crafted by notable Czech artists. Following Kramář's death, the property was managed by a dedicated society until the communist coup in 1948, after which it became state property.
Since 1952, the Kramář Villa has been used to host important state visits and negotiations. It was officially designated as the residence of the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic in 1998, though only a few leaders have actually lived there. The villa is surrounded by a French-style park, adding to its charm and significance as a historical site in Prague."

"The Neo-Baroque villa with typical Art Nouveau elements and 56 rooms, which was built between 1911 and 1914 by the politician and first Czechoslovak Prime Minister Karel Kramář, is considered one of the most distinctive buildings of Prague villa architecture. Since 1998, the villa with its unique interiors and surroundings arranged like a French park has been the residence of the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic."
