"The Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague houses a remarkable permanent exhibition dedicated to Czech Cubism, a style that transcends fine art, applied art, and architecture. This exhibition features an extensive collection of furniture, complete suites, and decorative items crafted from ceramic, glass, and metal, showcasing the innovative creativity of Czech Cubism's foremost figures. Notable architects and designers such as Pavel Janák, Josef Gočár, Josef Chochol, Vlastislav Hofman, Otakar Novotný, and František Kysela are represented, alongside iconic Cubist paintings by artists like Emil Filla, Bohumil Kubišta, Josef Čapek, and Václav Špála, as well as sculptures by Otto Gutfreund. Visitors can immerse themselves in the movement's impact on architecture through contemporary and historical photographs of Prague's Cubist and Rondo-Cubist buildings and interiors. An interactive zone invites guests to sit in replicas of Cubist chairs, encouraging them to engage with the art through worksheets titled “An ordinary chair or a precious object for display?” that prompt exploration from new perspectives. To enhance the experience, a printed guidebook and a map of Prague’s Cubist architecture are available at the House at the Black Madonna, allowing visitors to further appreciate this influential artistic movement."
