"Four historic buildings from the 17th to 19th centuries. Forty-two bespoke rooms that might feature high ceilings, exposed beams, fireplaces, stone walls, or wooden floors. A lobby in an old bank vault. A wood-paneled cocktail bar. A restaurant filled with leather banquettes. A spa with an infrared thermal sauna. Hotel Kinsley would fit in perfectly in Brooklyn. It's not in New York City, though. It's in historic Kingston. Kingston is an easy escape from the city. You can drive up in less than two hours and find Hotel Kinsley in the Uptown Historic District. Buzzy restaurants, cool coffee shops, hip bookstores-cum-draft-bars, hipster clothing boutiques, locally stocked wine shops, and retro vinyl stores are all within walking distance of the hotel. Just a few miles outside of Kingston, you'll start climbing into the Catskills, so hikes, fishing, snowboarding, and waterfalls are just a short drive away. You can easily spend one day exploring the historic city and the next in the mountains with your evenings reserved for artfully crafted cocktails and farm-to-table dinners. It's truly the best of both worlds. Location: 1 hour & 45 minutes from NYC Style: boutique hotel spread across 4 historic buildings Vibe: mid-century modern"
"A well known boutique hotel with a few locations right in the center of town. You can get away with no car if you come by rail or bus from NYC or elsewhere. There is plenty to see and eat within walking distance aside from swimming and hiking which is a little out of walking reach. "
