"The White Horse Campground is another DOC campsite that offers nice bathroom facilities and a spacious indoor common area with tables, sinks, and trash cans. The campsite is adjacent to the parking lot for Mueller Hut Route and the Hooker Valley track, which provides early access for early morning hikes and incredible views of the mountains from your camping spot!
Reserve this one in advance as it is a popular campsite and may not be available upon arrival if you don't. When you arrive at the campsite, stop at the post at the front to get a check-in slip. You will fill out part of it and put it in the drop box and keep the other part of it to put on your windshield for the night. If you don't, a ranger will knock on your car in the middle of the night to make sure you have a reservation.
Note that the whole parking lot is not the campsite, just the area past that small station with the check-in slips.
Cost per night: 18 NZD "

"This campground is a PAID site area that you have to book in advance. It's $15 NZD per adult per night and $7.50 per child under 17 per night, infants are free. There are only 60 non-powered/tent sites. There are no fires or dogs allowed in the campground. It's super busy here so just know you won't have much privacy if you decide to camp here, but it is the perfect location for doing any hikes in Aoraki/Mt. Cook National Park."

"Sleep beneath the stars and at the base of the snowy mountains at this first come first serve style campground. Reserve your spot ahead of time as this is the only camping available. There is a large, shared kitchen with running water and tables. Drop toilets."
