"Aguas Calientes is the perfect base for exploring Machu Picchu! This little town, tucked into the lush valley below the ancient ruins, has such a chill, laid-back vibe. I loved how easy it was to get around and how close everything was—especially since the town is all about making your Machu Picchu visit as smooth as possible.
One of my favorite things was wandering through the local markets and trying out the restaurants. There are some great spots to grab a bite and soak in the views of the surrounding mountains. I also stayed overnight, which meant I could get up early and head straight to Machu Picchu before the day-trippers arrived. It was totally worth it for that quiet, magical experience at sunrise. If you’re planning a trip to Machu Picchu, Aguas Calientes is definitely the place to stay!"

"Town at the foot of Machu Picchu - surprisingly nice with all the tourist money that has come in over the year!"
