What people say

"Built in the 1400's (there's some debate on the exact year), the White Tower was part of Braşov's medieval defense system that encircles the oldest part of the city. The tower is occasionally open for tours inside its 5-stories. However, even if you can't go inside, it's worth the visit! From the exterior, you get one of the best scenic overlooks of the city. The panorama includes the full span from modern construction to the east, through the oldest center of the city including Council Square and the Black Church, the BRASOV sign on Mount Tâmpa, into Schei district and the mountains in the west. For postcard worthy photos, the White Tower can't be missed! Note: You can hike up to the White Tower from Strada Dupa Ziduri, "the street behind the walls," or you can drive up Calea Poienii and park at a small scenic overlook near the tower. "
"The White Tower was built between 1460 and 1494 and represents one of the most massive constructions of the fortification. The walls are 4 m thick in the basement and the tower is 19 m in diameter. It has battlements, holes for pitch and balconies. The tower is connected to Graft Bastion with a bridge. A fireplace is still preserved in the interior of the tower. The last restoration of the construction took place in 2005-2006 and today there is a museum in the tower's hall."
