Bacalar is located right at the south of the Yucutan Peninsula, so some people stay here before heading to other places such as Belize or Guatemala.
There are many travellers in Bacalar and its very safe, you'll definitely make friends and you can have the opportunity to have as much or as little time to yourself as you like.
The area has a few famous art sculptures and great shops for wondering around.
It is a beautiful place where I would recommend spending a couple of nights!"
