2- days Bacalar itinerary
Bacalar is located in the southern part of Quintana Roo state, in southeast Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.
Day 1:
Morning:
Start your day with a delicious breakfast at La Playita, a charming waterfront restaurant known for its tasty Mexican dishes and beautiful views of the lagoon.
After breakfast:
Head to Cenote Azul, a stunning cenote with crystal-clear waters. Take a refreshing swim, snorkel, or simply relax and soak in the natural beauty.
The easiest way to get to the cenote is by driving or renting a car. It's around 11 mins drive from our breakfast stop.
For lunch:
Try Pizzeria Bertilla Y Luciano, a cozy spot that serves mouthwatering wood-fired pizzas and other Italian delights.
Afteroon:
Explore the Bacalar Fort, also known as Fuerte de San Felipe. Learn about the history of the region and enjoy panoramic views of the lagoon from the fort's watchtowers.
We deserve a coffee break at El Manati Bacalar, a local favorite known for its aromatic coffee and cozy atmosphere.
Evening:
Enjoy a sunset boat tour on Bacalar Lagoon. Marvel at the changing colors of the water and soak in the tranquility of the surroundings.

P.S. You can find plenty of tour options throughout the town. When I was choosing the one for myself I checked a few places and compared prices. Most of them are more or less the same and offer similar prices.
For dinner:
If you'd like to get some after-dinner drinks I recommend 'I Scream Bar', where bartenders are super fun and will have you screaming ' I SCREAM BAR!!!'
Day 2:
Morning:
Early morning today as we're heading to the lagoon to watch the sunrise.
Even if you're not a morning person, this sunrise will be worth it!
Start your day with a hearty breakfast at Panaderia La Tartaleta. Their coffee and sandwiches are amazing!
After breakfast:
Head to cenote Esmeralda which is located within the lagoon. It is considered as one of the most admirable natural viewpoints that are located around Bacalar Lagoon.
It's just 11 mins drive from Bacalar centro.
For lunch:
Head to Mango and Chile, a 100% plant-based restaurant serving burgers, tacos, salads, and more. Its location has an outstanding views on Bacalar Lagoon.
Afternoon:
Explore the Bacalar Ecological Park. The admission costs 20$ (Mexican pesos), and you can swim there so don't forget your swimsuit and snorkeling gear.
Treat yourself to a sweet treat at Haladeria Annie Delicias. They have one of the best ice cream in town.
Evening:
End your day with a memorable dinner at Finnistere Bacalar. Delicious and fresh ingredients, the ambiance is absolutely stunning, and the serving sizes are huge. You just can't miss this spot while in Bacalar.
