Located about 20 km from Skópelos town, Kastani beach is the most famous on the island and, thanks to “Mamma mia!” it has become one of the most visited tourist destinations in the Sporades Archipelago, with daily tours departing from the center of Skópelos and all the nearby islands.
Kastani was the set of three of the most emblematic songs of the film: “Lay all your love on me” (sung by Sophie and her fiancé Sky), “Does your mother know” (performed by Tanya to block the advances of the young barman met on the beach) and “I have a dream” (the beautiful song sung by the two protagonists at the end of the film as they leave Kalokairi Island).

But if You want to get the most out of visiting Kastani beach, You should go early in the morning or in the evening, because during the day Mamma Mia movie tours will stop there many times, and the small beach then gets crowded when all of the people gets out of a ferry. Make sure to hike along the coast because You may find some little bays and caves or cliffs for jumping in water just for Your own.
