"Victoria Terrace, nestled within Edinburgh's picturesque Old Town, exudes timeless elegance and charm. Built in the mid-19th century and named in honor of Queen Victoria, this terraced row of Georgian-style buildings overlooks the historic Grassmarket below, offering stunning views of Edinburgh Castle and the city skyline. With its distinctive architecture, characterized by elegant facades, ornate ironwork balconies, and tall windows, Victoria Terrace stands as a testament to Edinburgh's architectural heritage and Victorian grandeur.
Culturally, Victoria Terrace holds significance as a vibrant hub of artistic and cultural activity. Its central location within the city's UNESCO World Heritage site makes it a popular destination for both locals and visitors seeking to explore Edinburgh's rich history and cultural offerings. From charming boutiques and art galleries to cozy cafes and traditional pubs, Victoria Terrace offers a diverse array of experiences that capture the essence of Edinburgh's eclectic spirit. Moreover, its proximity to iconic landmarks such as Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile ensures that it remains a focal point for tourists and residents alike, serving as a timeless symbol of the city's enduring allure and charm."

"On Victoria Street, just above the shops, there's a not-so-secret terrace that offers you a spectacular view of the street. Unexpectedly, if you want to go up there, you have to walk along the Royal Mile, which is just behind Victoria Street. Once you reach Talbooth Kirk, take the little road on the left called Upper Bow, and there you are!
Ps: Don't take the stairs! They will take you down directly to Victoria Street and not the terrace."

"In my opinion this is the best point to see Victoria Street down below. Walk along the terrace right to the end and you'll see the colourful buildings down below. If you walk right around the corner you'll also spot the tops of George Heriots School in the background. "
