"Gröbe's Villa, a neo-Renaissance monument situated in Havlíčkové sady, stands as a historic site and cultural center. Since 2003, the villa has been utilized as a training facility for lawyers, though it is not typically open to the public. Occasionally, it hosts concerts and exhibitions, attracting those interested in arts and culture. Adjacent to the villa is Altán Grébovka, a popular wine bar often chosen for weddings, providing a charming venue with a delightful ambiance. Nearby, Café Pavilon Grébovka adds to the attraction. Originally built in the 1870s as a shooting range and bowling alley, the pavilion was renovated and reopened in September 2009, now serving as a café with a view of the surrounding gardens. The Grotta, an artificial cave in the park, along with its romantic surroundings featuring a fountain, was ceremonially reopened after reconstruction on September 17, 2011. This space serves as an alternative cultural scene, enhancing the garden's artistic offerings. The garden also features several playgrounds, benches for relaxation, and exercise equipment for stretching and strengthening workouts. However, dogs are not allowed to roam freely in this space. Historically, the Gröbovka garden was developed by Moritz Gröbe, a manufacturer who purchased two estates with vineyards in 1870. He demolished the Upper Landhaus and constructed his summer residence along with an expansive English park. The villa, designed by architect Antonín Barvitius, was completed between 1871 and 1888 and showcases rich architectural details, including frescoes by painter Kugler and sculptures by Detem. The villa's terrace offers stunning views of the southern part of the city. Following Gröbe's death in 1891, the property changed hands multiple times, serving various purposes, including a home for youth during the 1930s. The villa suffered extensive damage during World War II but was subsequently restored. Today, it is managed by the Prague 2 district, with significant renovations completed in 2007. The surrounding gardens feature a variety of flora, with over 120 species of trees, and offer picturesque views, well-maintained pathways, and recreational facilities. Additionally, the vineyard, founded on previously difficult terrain, has been producing its own certified wine since 1993, hosting the annual Vinohrad Wine Festival that showcases local varieties like Frankovka and Riesling. This combination of history, culture, and natural beauty makes Gröbe's Villa and its gardens a significant destination in Prague."
