"The museum exhibits works from the collection of modern Central European art of Jan and Meda Mládk, in addition to the collections of abstract art pioneer František Kupka and the Czech cubist sculptor Otto Gutfreund, as well as works of important Central European artists from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and the former Yugoslavia.
The building of the former Sova mills, where the museum is located, named after Václav Sova from Liboslavi, who owned the mill in the 15th century. In the 19th century, the bakery company of František Odkolko was located here, who evicted the mill, had it expanded in a neo-Gothic style, and also acquired the adjacent garden, which was therefore called the Odkolk garden. The mill burned down in 1896, and only in 2000, after more than a hundred years, was the entire area reconstructed for the newly founded museum."
