"Why I Chose It: We booked the Borgergade location for our guests, and they all raved about their stay. This hotel’s central location made it easy for everyone to explore Copenhagen’s main attractions, from Nyhavn to Amalienborg Palace, all within walking distance. Designed by the renowned Danish architect Kim Utzon, the hotel boasts a minimalist aesthetic that combines style and practicality, offering great value for money.
Note: Wakeup Copenhagen has two other locations—one near Tivoli Gardens (Carsten Niebuhrs Gade) and the other by the Kalvebod Brygge waterfront. I can’t speak for those, but the Borgergade location was ideal for our wedding events and guest convenience.
The Rooms
The rooms are compact but well-designed, making the most of the space with a sleek, modern vibe. Each one includes:
Free Wi-Fi
TV and desk
Air conditioning and heating
Perfect for travelers who value comfort without unnecessary frills.
Hotel Amenities
Wakeup Copenhagen offers a range of amenities to make your stay smooth and hassle-free:
24/7 Staffed Reception: Helpful for late arrivals or any last-minute needs.
Express Check-Out & Self Check-In: Convenient for a seamless experience.
Business Center: Handy for those needing to catch up on work.
Breakfast: Available for a fee, though I’d recommend exploring local cafes for better value and variety.
Bike Rentals: Ideal for discovering Copenhagen’s bike-friendly streets.
Parking Facilities: Available for a fee, perfect for those driving.
Ironing Room: A thoughtful touch for those attending events like weddings!
Luggage Storage: Useful for early arrivals or late departures.
Tips for Booking
To secure the best rates and room availability, book well in advance, especially during peak tourist seasons.
When choosing between their locations, think about the attractions you’d like to be closest to. For us, Borgergade’s central position was a huge plus for our guests, allowing them to easily explore the city on foot or by renting a bike.
Why I Recommend It
Even though I didn’t stay there personally, Wakeup Copenhagen Borgergade checked all the boxes for our wedding guests. It’s affordable, clean, safe, and so conveniently located. If you’re visiting Copenhagen and want a great base to explore the city without breaking the bank, this hotel is definitely worth considering!
