What people say

"Piazzale Michelangelo is a famous square that overlooks Florence. This space offers panoramic views of the city's skyline and iconic landmarks, including the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio. There are many vendors and eateries around making it the perfect place to catch a beautiful sunset over Florence. If you choose to sit on the steps (where hundreds of tourists watch the sunset every night), watch out for the fake newlyweds. After visiting Piazzale Michelangelo over ten times, there is always a couple who show up mid-sunset to take "wedding photos" in their full wedding attire. After taking pictures with the crowd and receiving applause, they will go around and ask for donations. Don't fall for this tourist trap!"
"Best views of the city! If you have some time, take a pizza and a bottle of wine up here and just relax for an hour or two. Sunset definitely has the most impressive views, but the place gets absolutely overrun with tourists cramming for a photo so if you do go for sunset, get their like at least an hour early so you can get a proper spot to enjoy, otherwise you will be looking at the view through other tourists phone cameras."
"Here's the thing...there's not really any shade, so if you're going on a hot day, go early or late. It's a bit of a hike to get up there, so make sure you take care of yourself. But the view...it is spectacular!"
