What people say

Nally Preseault
"Hvolsvöllur (Hillfield) is a small town (population around 1,000 people) that you'll pass through along the Ring Road. Tourists use it as a pit stop in between the Golden Circle and Vík (the southernmost town on the mainland of Iceland). The center of town has the LAVA Centre (a volcano and earthquake interactive display), a pretty church, small hotels, and a couple of restaurants. On the outskirts of Hvolsvöllur, you'll find Drangurinn (a giant boulder), Seljavallalaug (a geothermal hot pool), Seljalandsfoss (the waterfall you can walk behind), and good salmon and trout fishing."
