" About: Urriðafoss is Iceland’s largest waterfalls in terms of how much water runs through it. It's a great pit stop to stretch your legs, and it's NOT very popular so there's usually no one else around! Rating: 3/5 Time: 10 minutes Walking: very little - you can see the falls from the parking lot, or walk down to a viewing platform to get closer. 4wd?: no Pro tip: There is talk of building a hydroelectric power stations in the river, which might either change the waterfall drastically or simply make it disappear, so see it while you can!"

"Urriðafoss on AllTrails https://www.alltrails.com/trail/iceland/southern/urridafoss?sh=nlj0pu&u=i Urriðafoss is a waterfall in the Þjórsá River. Þjórsá is Iceland's longest river, 230 km, and Urriðafoss is the most voluminous waterfall in the country. This mighty river drops down (360 m3/sec) by the edge of the Þjórsárhraun lava field in beautiful and serene surroundings. Þjórsárhraun lava field is the result of the greatest lava flow on earth since the Ice Age. It is located right off highway 1. "

"This is a smaller multitiered waterfall that is often overlooked but is prime fly fishing ground. Unfortunately, all river fishing is private so you must book with a charter to get a permit. This is the perfect place for lunch, and if you're a Walter Mitty fan, you can check out the neighboring Walter Mitty Bridge. Just don't drive over it because it's out of commission and you're driving into someones farm. "
