"This castle lies on what used to be an island near the port of Ischia. It is a long climb up the stairs (there is an elevator for those with mobility issues). The museum includes many articles from when the castle was in use, including suits of armor and medieval torture devices. Near the top of the castle they begin to integrate the old with the new, showing modern art in ancient temples and churches. There is also a cafe perfect for apertivo after the hike up the stairs with a view of Ischia."

"Aragonese Castle is built on a small island connected to Ischia by a causeway. The castle has been standing for over 2,000 years and offers spectacular views of the island and the sea. Over the centuries, the Aragonese Castle has served as a fortress, monastery, and royal residence. It was also a refuge for the island’s inhabitants during pirate raids and invasions."

"View is epic, otherwise underwhelming.
Found a little sandwich shop (that had hanging garlic and tomatoes in the window and a giant pig sculpture outside; across from a bakery or gelato shop) on the main drag in Ischia (the town and island itself have the same name) where I had the best sandwich of my life at."
