"Originally from a farm from the beginning of the 18th century, it owes its name to judge Cunha Thorel, the richest owner in the area.
In January 1928, the palace's land was transferred to the Lisbon City Council, which built the garden and viewpoint there, from which a stunning view of the western part of Lisbon can be seen. The space surrounding this garden is rich in numerous examples of noble houses from the 18th and 19th centuries.
In 2008, Jardim do Torel underwent a requalification and restoration intervention. The work included the installation of a new public lighting system, consisting of presence and decorative lighting, making it possible for Jardim do Torel to be another point of panoramic interest at night in Lisbon."

"Super special to me, as I used to live around the corner. Everyday (almost) was going there to read a book, put my feet in the fountain - probably the only swimming pool in Lisbon - and watch the sunset."
