"Fardagafoss is a gorgeous mid-sized waterfall located near the town of Egilsstaðir in East Iceland. The cascading waters of the Midhúsá River plunge dramatically from a 66-foot (20-meter) cliff into a rocky crevasse and then flow towards a narrow gorge.
Fardagafoss is known for its natural beauty and convenient location just off Route 93, making it a popular stop for visitors traveling between Egilsstaðir and Seyðisfjörður. There's a marked hiking trail that leads to the waterfall, and it's easy to follow except for the last part, which can be a bit steep and uneven.
Legend has it that a giantess once lived in a cave behind the waterfall. The cave is no longer accessible due to a collapse, but some visitors still enjoy making wishes by the waterfall.
The hike to Fardagafoss is considered moderately challenging and takes about an hour to complete out and back. The trail is 1.6 miles long.
Be sure to wear sturdy shoes with good traction, as the path can be slippery, especially when wet.
The best time to visit Fardagafoss is during the summer months when the weather is more predictable and the trails are clear."

"Don’t miss this waterfall as you drive along the 93 towards Egilsstaðir. It’s a short (uphill) walk but you will be rewarded with another waterfall en route.
30 minutes to explore."
