Enoteca Bellini

"Enoteca Bellini is a hole-in-the-wall "enoteca" (wine bar), run by young, Italian-American Florentine-born Camilla Bellini, it’s a perfect stop to enjoy an "aperitivo" just like the locals. Aperitivo is the Italian custom of enjoying a little glass of something, thoughtfully selected Italian and international wine in this case, and maybe a bite to eat, in the time after work and before dinner. If you spend long enough and keep ordering food, aperitivo then turns into dinner ("cena"). My aperitivo always turns into cena here, thanks to Camilla's delicious "crostoni", big slices of toasted Tuscan bread topped with quality ingredients sourced from all over the country. Some favorites: - burro e acciughe: butter and anchovies; - Burro del Chianti: fresh pork fat with garlic and rosemary, butcher Dario Cecchini of Panzano in Chianti's famous invention; - taleggio e zucca marinata: taleggio cheese and marinated pumpkin; - caprino fresco, peperoni sott'olio e mandorle: goat cheese, oil-packed bell peppers and almonds. Delicious salads and tasting plates with salumi and cheeses are also available. The vibe is informal and friendly."
