What people say

"The natural beauty and scenic location of Lake Braies have made it one of the most photographed and iconic spots in the Dolomites. However, due to its increasing popularity, it's important to respect environmental regulations and local rules to preserve the natural beauty of the area. You can hike around the lake, rent a boat or just chill in the area. Depending on the season, you have to pay for parking and the regulations and prices change year by year."

"Also known as Lago di Braies, this is a MUST SEE on your trip to the Dolomites. While it is a bit more touristy than the rest, it is more easily accessible and absolutely stunning. Unlike many other lakes in the Dolomites, such as Lago di Carezza, you are actually allowed to swim in Lago di Braies. The only thing, it is freezing, so be prepared!"

"The AV1 begins at the far side of the lake. Definitely plan to stay here, at Hotel Pragser Wildsee, before the hike. The hotel website says there is a 3 night minimum, but they were happy to accommodate us for two nights pre hike. It was nice to enjoy the quiet lake in the late afternoon after all the day tourists have left. "
