"Cheomseongdae Observatory, built during Queen Seondeok's reign (632-647), is a historic landmark in Gyeongju. Standing 9 meters tall, this cylindrical structure is made of 365 stones, representing the days in a year. The 27 layers symbolize Queen Seondeok's rule and the lunar month. Cheomseongdae's structure includes a southeast opening, with the lower part filled with rubble and the upper part hollow. Ancient texts suggest ladders were used to climb inside and observe the stars. As the oldest astronomical observatory in Asia, Cheomseongdae provides insight into the Silla Dynasty's technological advancements. This observatory highlights the historical connection between astronomy, agriculture, and politics in ancient Korea. 🎬 Kdrama & Movies filmed here: ✔️ Reply 1988 ✔️ True Beauty ✔️ Monthly Magazine Home ✔️ A Good Day To Be a Dog ✔️ Stealer: The Treasure Keeper ✔️ 20th Century Girl ⏲️ Operating Hours: - 09:00 AM to 10:00 PM - Winter: 09:00 AM to 9:00 PM - Holiday: N/A (Open all year round)"
