"The United States Capitol, located on Capitol Hill, is a must-visit attraction for anyone visiting Washington, D.C. Visitors can take guided tours of the building, including the Rotunda and the Crypt. The Capitol is also home to the Senate and House of Representatives, and visitors can watch Congress in session when in session. It is busiest during the weekdays when Congress is in session, so it is recommended to visit on weekends or during congressional recesses. While on Capitol Hill, visitors can also check out other popular attractions such as the Library of Congress, the Supreme Court, and the Folger Shakespeare Library. Just a short walk away is the National Mall, which offers stunning views of the monuments and memorials of Washington D.C., including the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and World War II Memorial."
"To tour the Capitol Building you'll enter through the Capitol Visitor Center, which is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Saturday. The visitor center itself is interesting and hosts rotating temporary exhibits and interactive programs but this area is where you can pickup a walking tour. You can also take a private tour of the Capitol by contacting your Member of Congress. If they have staff availability, a member of their staff will take you on a tour. You can also visit them to receive tickets to the House Gallery where you can watch Members of Congress give speeches and vote on pieces of legislation. "
