Villa Carlotta

The beautiful themed gardens and bamboo forest are the highlight of this grand villa that also houses an artwork collection with sculptures by Antonio Canova. In the spring, you'll find camellias and azaleas in bloom. Spend the afternoon slowly strolling through the grounds. Enjoy a picnic at the villa or stop by T Bar at Grand Hotel Tremezzo afterwards for drinks with a view. 

Located next to the ferry stop in Tremezzo. 

Current hours: 10am – 7pm
Last ticket 6 pm, museum is closing at 6.30 pm
Tickets: 12 euro

Located in Tremezzina, within a short distance from Villa del Balbianello, Villa Carlotta is another beautiful Villa you can visit if you have some extra time!
Open from mid-March to mid-November (please check on Google or on the official website).
Opening times: 9am - 7.30pm.
Regular ticket: €12 (6-17 years old kids: €10)

This 17th century home, turned museum/garden is definitely the biggest attraction in Tremezzo. The gardens are incredibly diverse, containing over 500 plant species, including bamboo, cacti, palm trees, Japanese maples, and orchids, amongst many others. There is also a great art museum at the villa.

Villa Carlotta was built in the 17th century for a Milanese marquis, but it later became the property of Giovanni Battista Sommariva, who modified the villa with a 19th-century taste, commissioned artworks, and had extensive botanical gardens planted.

A 17th-century wonder, this villa is known for it's botanical gardens with azaleas, rhododendrons, and camellias blooming in spring!  

A classic spot on Lake Como, this museum and gardens are worth a stop. Near the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, also worth a visit.
