Nally Preseault
"Systrafoss (Sisters' Waterfall) is in Skógarreitur, a small national forest in Klaustur. It originates from Systravatn, a lake higher up the hill. Both the lake and the waterfall were named after the nuns at Kirkjubæjar Abbey, a Benedictine monastery that was in town for more than 300 years. Systrafoss is unique because it's actually two waterfalls. They drop 60 and 80 feet parallel to one another from the early spring until the late summer. The rest of the year, you might not see any water at all. The waterfalls only run when melting snow causes the lake to overflow."
