"This is a bucketlist hike here in Aotearoa New Zealand! It can take between 6-8 hours and isn’t an easy hike - but anyone with a decent level of fitness and ability can complete it! Definitely do your own research on this hike!
Things to consider:
It’s a one way crossing - you will need a bus ticket to get back to the start to collect your car or you’ll need to get the bus back to Taupō.
Equipment- walking boots vs trainers.
Weather & time of year! (It’s a snow capped mountain but the track should be free of ice and snow depending on the time of year!). "

"This is listed as one of the greatest day walks in NZ - for good reason. You will walk through a volcanic landscape that showcases so many different dramatic views. The shuttle is a little on the expensive side to get here no matter who you book through, however it's worth is to see this landscape. "

"The Tongariro Alpine Crossing is 19.4km long and takes and average of 6 to 8 hours to complete. It’s New Zealand’s oldest national park and a dual World Heritage Site. As you can see, the views are stunning as ever, so take the hike if you’re able!"
