What people say

"A significant meeting point in Argentine history for protest and celebration (including the annual LGBTQ+ Pride march in November). The plaza is surrounded by the Casa Rosada, Cabildo, and the city’s main cathedral, marked by a small white obelisk. On Thursdays at 3:30pm, you’ll see the ‘Madres de la Plaza de Mayo’ gather and circle the obelisk, wearing white headscarves and holding photographs of their missing children. "Plaza De Mayo is the oldest public square of the city of Buenos Aires and its the place where almost all the iconic moments of political history in Argentina took place (with the exception of the Declaration of Independence). Around it we can found the cathedral of the city, the government house (known as Casa Rosada - 'Pink House'), the museum of Cabildo and some other public buildings like banks and ministries."
"It's a great area to visit and learn about the history of Argentina. At night it's lite up with different colored lights and it looked beautiful! We walked past it when heading back from having dinner at the dock of Puente de las Mujeres."
