Congreso de la Nación Argentina

This important building is where federal laws are formed and sanctioned. It is placed in the Plaza De Los Dos Congresos (Square of Two Congresses) at the west corner of Avenida de Mayo (Mayo Avenue). It has a big dome, magnificent sculptures and 8 halls inside, one of them for deputies and another one for senator

Facultad de Derecho - UBA

In this iconic building is where the Faculty of Law take place. It belongs to the UBA (University of Buenos Aires, the largest university of Argentina).
It has a lot of prestige in the academic world and its one of the top 100 university around the world.
Sixteen presidents and one of the five's Nobel Prizes graduated from this university.

Teatro Colón

This majestic building is consider one of the most important lirics theatres in the world. In the same level as the Scala of Milan, Garnier opera in Paris and the Royal Opera House in London. The acoustic in this building is one of the best.

El Ateneo Grand Splendid

One of the biggest and beautiful libraries in the world! Even though you can buy books, music and movies, coming here and enjoy the inside is an experience itself.
The biggest library in South America and recognised by magazines like National Geographic and The Guardian.
The opening was in 2000 but the building is the old Gran Splendid Theatre from the beginning of XX century and still have some construction (boxes at the top) and decoration from that time. In the old stage with the big curtains works a coffee shop where you can sit with your own book and have a peaceful moment to read something.

Casa Rosada

This building is the government palace, also call 'Pink House'. It's located in front of Plaza de Mayo square and it stands where the original fort of Buenos Aires was built in 1580.
There are free walking tours inside the Casa Rosada Saturday, Sundays and holidays 10am-6pm

Catedral Metropolitana de Buenos Aires

Cabildo de Buenos Aires

This building was the town hall of the colonial times and the heart of 1810 revolution of independence.
The Cabildo is in the same place since 1580 but has a lot of modifications on its structure. Even though, this beautiful building, now the National Museum of the Cabildo and the May Revolution, has a lot of history inside.

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays: 10.30am - 5pm.
Thursdays: 10.30am - 8pm.
Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays: 10.30am - 6pm.

Floralis Genérica

A real gem of Buenos Aire city! This big flower is made of aluminium and stainless steel and its located in the Plaza de las Naciones Unidas (United Nations square). This sculpture is controlled by hydraulics and photoelectric sensors.
Its petals opens 8am each morning and close at midnight. They also close in high winds to protect the sculpture and on patriotic holidays they remain open all day.

Cementerio de la Recoleta

If you like ghost stories you need to come here and know Liliana Crociati and David Alleno's story, among others. You wont be able to sleep!

Galerías Pacífico

Similar to the Bon Marché in Paris you can visit Galerias Pacifico ('Pacific Gallery' in english) located in Cordoba Avenue and Florida Street, one of the most traditional corner in the city.
Its has 11.000m2, a vault made of glass and a really beautiful dome in the center of this big space.
It was declared as National Monument because of its architecture and has more than 150 top brand stores.

This flea market is open on Sundays and it's located in San Telmo, an old neighborhood of the city. This area has a mixture between history and modernity and this street market added a special touch, by putting on sale unique and ancient products, literally pieces of old collections.

You didnt go to Argentina if you didnt walk through this avenue. From Constitucion area to Libertador avenue, this avenue was inaugurated in 1937 and, until this days, is one of the widest avenue in the world with 140 meters.
