Soča

"If you're driving north to south, you'll know you're reaching the end of the Vršič Pass when you spot the Soča. The alpine river flows 86 miles through northwest Slovenia and Northeast Italy. It descends through the Julian Alps, the Trenta Valley, and the Soča Valley before emptying into the Adriatic Sea near Monfalcone, on the Italian side of the two countries' border.
During World War II, the Soča was a bloody mess, particularly during the Battle of Caporetto in 1917. But all is peaceful now. The river was nicknamed the "Emerald Beauty" for its famous emerald-green water. Fly fishermen, from all over the world, come to fish for soča trout. Canoeing, kayaking, and rafting are popular, too. Add the surrounding mountains for stunning scenery, even if you aren't coming for the adventure sports."

"The Soca River is a super clear and vibrant river that flows through the most amazing scenery. This is a must see in Slovenia, and also a place you NEED to excursion out onto - take a tour or just dip in the super cold water for a refreshing morning!"
