"This monument was inspired by Friar Diego José de Cádiz, a member of the Capuchin Franciscan order. It was originally called Cristo de los Desagravios y Misericordia.
It is located in one of the most beautiful squares in Córdoba. It is a monument consisting of a stone cross with a crucified Christ, and is enclosed by a small fence with lighthouses, which is why popular custom changed its name and it is now called Cristo de los Faroles. It was the work of Juan Navarro León in 1794."
