What people say

"The history of the Palace of the Countess of Lebrija begins with Regla Manjón, Countess of Lebrija, a woman ahead of her time, whose love of art led her to acquire an impressive heritage throughout her life. The countess dedicated herself to protecting all the artistic works that were under her control. During her work of protection, as mosaics were discovered in Itálica, she acquired the lands where they were located in order to treat them with the greatest possible care. The ground floor of the house extends around a courtyard and contains elements of incalculable value, among which are amphorae, sculptures, paintings, elegant furniture, striking mosaics, beautiful Roman pieces, tiles rescued from ruined convents and palaces, collections of fans and porcelain pieces, valuable pictorial works and countless everyday items belonging to her time. Some of the rooms on the second floor are surprisingly preserved in a virtually intact state, as if time had not passed. In this area, we can see the chapel, the library, a bedroom and a dining room, where the table can still be seen set as if the family would appear at any moment to sit down to eat. The upper floor of the Palace of the Countess of Lebrija can only be visited by those who take part in the guided tour that takes place every hour."
