What people say

"ompleted in 1940, this arch bridge is a marvel of engineering, stretching 365 meters (1,198 feet) across the canyon at a height of 172 meters (564 feet) above the river. At the time of its construction, it was the largest vehicular concrete arch bridge in Europe, and it remains one of the most impressive sights in the Balkans. The bridge was designed by Yugoslav engineer Mijat Trojanović, and its construction took five years, from 1935 to 1940. The structure features five arches, with the central one being the largest at 116 meters (381 feet) wide. During World War II, the bridge gained historical significance when it was partially destroyed by its chief engineer, Lazar Jauković, to prevent the occupying Italian forces from advancing. Jauković was later captured and executed by the Italians, and a plaque on the bridge honors his sacrifice."
"Did you know that Tara Canyon is the deepest in Europe? Enjoy the views from the top of the bridge, but don't fly away because it can be pretty windy!"
"Absolutely stunning any time of day, but at sunrise and sunset it is especially gorgeous!"
