"Sunset at the summit of Haleakalā has become increasingly popular in the last few years. There are no reservations required to enter the park for sunset, but visitors should plan ahead and be prepared for their evening trip to the summit. You have to pay an entrance fee of $25 per vehicle. Parking spots fill up fast and they do not limit the amount of cars that they allow up. The summit is windy and chilly, so dress accordingly - jackets and pants. There are no food, drink or stops for gas so plan ahead of time. The road is very windy on the way up, so drive carefully!! "

"Experience the sacred landscape and learn about its significance in Hawaiian culture.
To secure a spot for sunrise viewing, visitors need to make a reservation in advance through the National Park Service website. It's advisable to arrive early, dress warmly due to the high altitude and colder temperatures, and bring plenty of water and snacks, as there are no food services available at the summit. "
