One of the most difficult travel plan I’ve made is, with any doubt, Turkey.

Even if it’s a super touristic country and tons of guides have been written on this gem, I wasn’t able to find proper information how to travel place by place.

I found extremely difficult finding updated prices (due to extremely high inflation of Turkish lira).

During our stay of 17 days, we saw prices of attraction going up and up day by day, just in front of our eyes.

Also planning our visit to Pammukkale was quite hard, since I didn’t find any accurate information online, such as lockers disposal after swim in Travertines or how to visit Hierapolis.

At the end we just went there and found out all the informations just living the moment!

Amazing place that worth at least a day while you travel in Turkey. Best suggestions: - avoid hot hours, - plan enough time to visit every part of the site and if you want you can also rent a quad or little shuttle to move around the place - bring change clothes - sunglasses and sun cream ALWAYS - do not miss Cleopatra’s pools

But you are lucky and I can give you all this information… for free!

Here a list of best suggestions to visit Pammukkale in the best way possible!

First of all, the entrance fee was 700 TL per persons (16/08/23), which includes Travertines Pools and Hierapolis.

I strongly recommend to buy also a ticket for Cleopatra’s antique pools and planning to stay there at least a couple of hours.

If you plan to visit Pammukkale in summer, pay attention to temperature.

This region is one of the hottest in all Turkey and Travertines’s white shines will be hard enough to simply let you wish to left the place.

Fortunately you can spend the hottest hours swimming in the Cleopatra’s antique pools since is the only part with shadow!

My best advice is also to visit the Travertines during the sunset, so that also your pictures will be amazing.

Below you can find the best advice to visit Pammukkale in the best and stressfully way:

1. Spend one night in Denizle

Denizle is the city of Pammukkale. In Denizle and all region, there’s nothing also to visit but Pammukkale, so you can understand how touristic it could be.

Anyway spend a night here will let you enjoy pammukkale since the sunrise (and hot air balloons watching!) till the sunset and visit every single thing with no stress.

2. If you buy an organized tour, pay attention on stops and time planning

It seems stupid to say BUT I spend seriously 3 hours to find the best tour for our needs. All the tours stops different time along the street in order to let tourist spend and consume through their partners restaurants and bars, consuming all the time that Pammukkale deserve for an unforgettable visit

3. Bring your stuff properly

You should bring a clothes change so that you’ll be free to swim, and a plastic bag to keep your stuff away from phones and charges… sulphurous water could affect your stuff permanently.

4. If you visit on summer, plan a swim in Cleopatra’s Antique Pools

It is simply A M A Z I N G! Once you buy the extra ticket (this pool is not included in the entrance fee) you’ll have also the locker in order to keep your bag safe during your swim.

We spent 5 nights in Antalya and this option has been chosen. Cleaned, quite near to city center and seaside, we really appreciated. Also breakfast was a plus
