Savannah, Georgia, is one of my favorite cities to visit. Established in 1733 on the Savannah River, its cobblestone streets lined with Spanish moss falling from the old oak trees give it an authentic southern charm.

Thunderbird Inn is a great place to stay with a sweet retro theme to it. It's not as centrally located as the Cotton Sail, but I still recommend it, especially if you are looking for something budget-friendly.

Wormsloe State Historic Site

Whenever I'm in Savannah, I always return to Wormsloe Historic Site. Wormsloe was a plantation built on 822 acres of land. The entrance may look familiar to you if you've seen the movie "The Last Song" with Miley Cyrus. The 1.5-mile-long road is famous for being canopied with giant oak trees. It's really a site to see. If you're a history buff, definitely check it out.

Bonaventure Cemetery

Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room

If you want to indulge in real Southern hospitality and culture, Mrs. Wilkes is an absolute must! Enjoy an unforgettable Southern meal shared with strangers. Every morning, Mrs. Wilkes opens its doors to a line of people hoping to sit at one of the tables set for 10. Strangers eat a meal together, and when they're done, they clean up their own dishes and go about their day. (Check out Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House Cook Book!) There are only so many seats, so make sure to get in line early!
