Savannah, Georgia, is one of my favorite cities to visit. Established in 1733 on the Savannah River, its cobblestone streets lined with Spanish moss falling from the old oak trees give it an authentic southern charm.

Where to Stay

The Cotton Sail Hotel Savannah, Tapestry Collection by Hilton
@Caseysoutes
I loved staying at the Cotton Sail Hotel. You can walk to just about everything to see and do in the city.

Thunderbird Inn
@Caseysoutes
Thunderbird Inn is a great place to stay with a sweet retro theme to it. It's not as centrally located as the Cotton Sail, but I still recommend it, especially if you are looking for something budget-friendly.

Things to Do

Wormsloe State Historic Site
@Caseysoutes
Whenever I'm in Savannah, I always return to Wormsloe Historic Site. Wormsloe was a plantation built on 822 acres of land. The entrance may look familiar to you if you've seen the movie "The Last Song" with Miley Cyrus. The 1.5-mile-long road is famous for being canopied with giant oak trees. It's really a site to see. If you're a history buff, definitely check it out.

Bonaventure Cemetery
@Caseysoutes
Established in the early 1700s, this southern gothic architecture and design is a multi-acre plot of "good fortune" and one of Savannah's most frequently visited sites.

At Your Leisure

Forsyth Park
@Caseysoutes
Forsythe Park is great for an early morning, late afternoon, or evening stroll. Thirty acres of walking paths, oak trees, a fountain, a play area for kids, and courts for ball games are centrally located in the city's center.

River Street Savannah Georgia
@Caseysoutes
River Street - you guessed it! It lines the river and has many shops, bars, and restaurants to spend the afternoon in. The Cotton Sail Hotel I recommend sits directly on this strip.

Foxy Loxy Cafe
@Caseysoutes
I just love the Foxy Loxy Cafe! Good coffee, good pastries, and a chill vibe. Every morning I'm in Savannah, I get a coffee and pastry to go and stroll through Forsythe Park.

Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room
@Caseysoutes
If you want to indulge in real Southern hospitality and culture, Mrs. Wilkes is an absolute must! Enjoy an unforgettable Southern meal shared with strangers. Every morning, Mrs. Wilkes opens its doors to a line of people hoping to sit at one of the tables set for 10. Strangers eat a meal together, and when they're done, they clean up their own dishes and go about their day. (Check out Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House Cook Book!) There are only so many seats, so make sure to get in line early!

The Shrimp Factory
@Caseysoutes
The Shrimp Factory is right on River Street and makes for a good lunch break while shopping and honey-tasting. The shrimp spinach artichoke dip is SO good!

Ahh, The Bar Bar. I had such a good time here. This bar kicked off one long (but fun) night out for me. Circular bar, pool tables, and fairly priced drinks!

@Caseysoutes
Check out the Tree House if you like live music. There are always musicians on the balcony. This chill spot is excellent for drinking beer and hanging out.

The Social Club has spacious outdoor seating, is dog-friendly, and is excellent for meeting other travelers. It's not called the SOCIAL club for nothing!

Boomys. I swore on my life I'd never do karaoke, but there I was, four vodka crans deep, singing " Jumper " by Third Eye Blind.... Definitely check this place out.
