Are you a cocktail lover like me? I am proud to say I have drank my way through Melbourne. From Melbourne's rooftop bars, to secret whiskey dens, I've got you covered.
We all know Melbourne is best known for their unique bars and food. As a foodie myself, the first course is always in liquid form! Melbourne has so many beautiful places, why not sip on a beverage and enjoy the view from a rooftop!
If i can give you any advice it is be here for the sunset! It is exquisite! My favourite cocktail here is their house Margarita (or maybe that's because I'm in the Italian cuisine capital of Lygon Street). You'll find Johnny down the alley and head up the lift.
Tough to find, but worth the effort! Goldilocks is nested in the heights of Melbourne but cant be seen from the streets. Make your way up the elevator, down the corridor and you come to a beautiful indoor/outdoor set up. My favourite here is their chilli margarita (not too spicy, not too plain, juuuust right!). Perfect for the mid shop lunch and beverage stop!
Take the tram out to Fitzroy, its worth it! Naked for Satan has an amazing Tapas menu - perfect for the pre-dinner appetiser or mid-afternoon snack.

Hidden but found!
There are also many hidden gems down the alleyways of Melbourne. Many of which you[ve got to be in the know, to know about. I've got you covered. These are a must if you are wanting that "down the rabbit hole" experience.
Wander down Malthouse Lane and you'll come to an unsigned wooden door. As you enter, candle lit ambience will welcome you to this old whisky bar. Now serving speciality cocktails, this place is a MUST!
My personal recommendation is the Espresso Martini with Whisky, not vodka (game changer).

The Espresso Martini at Eau De Vie is a must!
With a white chocolate mousse topping that is frozen by liquid nitrogen, it combines beautiful with the whisky espresso!
This not so hidden but must see bar is MUST! Right on the Yarra River under the beautiful Evan Walker bridge, you will find Ponyfish Island. You will feel like you're on a boat at this bar. It has delicious snacks and woodfire pizza, but the real star is the cocktail list. It also happens to be home to my favourite cocktail EVER, the La Violetta - a delightful rhubard and ginger gin concoction.
Who doesn't love a theme! This little tiki bar is so much fun. My favourite is always a pina colada, however the extensive cocktail list will keep you exploring all night long.
Get in early (or book if you can). This place draws a crowd, and its any wonder given their lux cocktail options and atmosphere. As a Harry Potter fan, the goblet of fire cocktail is my favourite. All cocktails come with a theatrical experience. If you're in a group they offer a cauldron cocktail, yes you heard me, a whole cauldron full of booze!

Stay the night, forget waiting in the taxi line at flinders!
Melbourne has amazing hotels that can be snagged for a decent price. Why not make your cocktail night a weekend thing - then you get to explore the amazing coffee in the morning.
We love this place because of the location! It is central to EVERYTHING! Tram stop down the alley (50 meters if that!), close to burke street mall, and walking distance to our favourite bars.
If you're wanting amazing value, this is hotel is for you. One street behind the yarra river and right on Southbank. Easy stroll down the the crown casino and a 5 minute walk to the CBD.
