🇵🇪 Peru Trip | Cuzco, Ollantaytambo, Pisac and Machu Picchu
Cusco
Arrival in Cusco
Even before arriving in Cusco, we had already seen the view taken in by very high mountains. Landing in Cusco only confirmed their beauty.
Accommodation
Right next to the Plaza de Armas.
Amazing walks and places
In Cusco, tourists can buy a "boleta turistica" (ticket) which gives access to practically all the attractions in the city and beyond.
To visit Pisac and Ollantaytambo you need to have a boleta turistica and you can buy it in the same building as the Museo de Arte Popular. It's a great option even if you don't manage to visit ALL of them, having the boleta on hand is very useful. The price for foreign tourists is $140 Peruvian soles.

Where to eat?
One more delicious than the other, these were some of the places we visited more than once.
Pisac
In the next two cities we visited, we took the bus because they are a little further away from Cusco.
There is also an archaeological site in Pisac, but it is much larger than the ones in Cusco. The altitude there reaches 2,972m above sea level and its mountains are breathtaking (literally!). This view that looks like "huge stairs" was actually where the food was grown, a space of fertile land.
Stores
The town is very small, with just a few streets and a few establishments. We ended up passing a few stores that are very famous in the region for their minerals and precious stones.
Ollantaytambo
Is the best preserved Inca city in Peru. The mix of streets and original buildings together with the ruins of Ollantaytambo make this destination almost an open-air museum in the middle of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Located 80 km from Cusco and at an altitude of 2,792 meters, Ollantaytambo is also a great stopover point between Cusco and Machu Picchu, as it is halfway between these two popular destinations in Peru.
Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu was an adventure of its own with strong emotions, especially this separate guide, worth checking out!
It was an unforgettable trip, the people were super welcoming, the food is fantastic, very similar to Brazilian food, we definitely want to come back, there are still many places to explore!
Thank you, Peru!
