V19E7: Featured Campsite

This is an official dispersed campsite on BLM Land south of Moab, along the Behind the Rocks 4x4 Safari Route. It's located on the southern side of a towering island of slick-rock, between the scenic Balcony Arch, and Picture Frame Arch. This campsite is accessible by any stock, four-wheel drive Jeep, truck, SUV, or camper van if you drive with care. It is located several miles from pavement down a well-traveled BLM road that could be impassable when wet. At the campsite, there is a primitive stone fire ring next to a towering wall of red-rock, and there is enough room for two or three vehicles surrounded by junipers. It is likely a very popular campsite, especially during peak season, and there is a neighboring campsite that is very similar. Expect to encounter other campers. There is very poor cell service here, and Starlink is not viable as the rock formation looms to the north. This is a great basecamp for hiking, enjoying scenery, or motorized 4x4 adventure, with countless difficult tracks in the area.
