Barcelona for $1,528 a person for 5 days!
Flights
Total Cost = ~ $250 (2 flights)Â
If you don't have the Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card, you should explore it! I personally think it's the best credit card for traveling! No joke, we are able to do at least 1 international trip every year with our points from this credit card.Â
For Flights we paid taxes, fees, seat upgrade and 1 extra bag ~ $250 (for 2 of us).Â
If you don't have Chase Sapphire Reserve, I suggest using Hopper. I found a flight today for $529 (this includes all fees/bags). It's still cheaper to fly to Barcelona, Spain than Miami, FL.
Hotels
Total cost = $630 (4 nights)Â
We started the trip at Hilton Diagonal Mar Barcelona for 2 nights! It was a pretty hotel but it wasn't within walking distance to the parts of Barcelona that we wanted to be in (as to why we ended up moving to the next hotel).
We didn't know prior to going to Spain that we should have booked certain restaurants WAY ahead of time. This hotel has Aürt Restaurant which was awarded with one Michelin Star. The next reservation was 3 months out. So I suggest booking these types of restaurants ahead of time if you plan to stay here.Â
Note: In March the pools at the hotel are closed 😠even when the weather is gorgeousÂ
We initial choose this hotel because it had great rates. About $190 a night with the Hilton Discount. This price included all taxes and fees and was the cheapest Hilton option at the time.Â
After two nights at Hilton at Diagonal Mar Barcelona, we moved to the Alexandra Barcelona Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton. I personally liked this hotel better than the first as everything was within walking distance.
Plus, the food at their bar was incredible! They had a deli slicer to make fresh charcuterie boards.Â
Note: these hotels don't have the best AC. But the vibe is worth it!Â
Price was $200 per night but we used points from Chase to supplement the cost.Â
Activities
Total Cost: $376 (2 people)Â
We did a "Montserrat Half-Day Tour with Tapas and Gourmet Wines". We met the tour at a local train station and for the day we set out on an amazing tour! This was one of the best parts of the trip!Â
We did a deal with Trip Advisor for this tour priced at $150 per person. At Montserrat decided to see the Museum. The Picasso collection was beautiful. Tickets to enter the Museum were $20 per person.Â
At the winery, after the wine tasting we bought 1 bottle to go. We were hoping to bring it back to the states but enjoyed it that evening at our hotel. It was $36 dollars.Â
The above was the only activities that we paid for. The rest we enjoyed for free!Â
RestaurantsÂ
Total = $1,500 (2 people)Â
We went to Spain for the food so splurged! There are more cost-effective ways to eat throughout Barcelona ... we choose to spend the majority of our budget on FOOD and BEVERAGES!Â
Here are few of my favorites:Â
Additional Costs $300Â
- Taxi to and from airport in BarcelonaÂ
- Public TransportationÂ
- Airport foodÂ
- transportation to the airport in USAÂ
- Covid tests because this was required at the timeÂ
