Thailand 14 day budget guide 🇹🇭
Day 1
- Arrive in Bangkok. Check into your chosen hostel/hotel, spend the afternoon here unwind after your flight. The linked accommodation have rooftops, take in the incredible views of the city!
- Spend the evening exploring one of Bangkok’s famous night markets, try some famous Thai dishes for a small price and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the market.
Day 2
- Check out of your accommodation, grab some breakfast and leave your bags at your accommodation. Spend the day at some of Thailand’s most incredible temples.
- Hopefully you have worn yourself out by taking in the culture from the temples and now you can make your way to train station to get a good nights sleep on the night train up to Chiang Mai.
Day 3
- This morning you will arrive in Chiang Mai, you should of slept well and your ready to jump straight into this amazing city.
- Drop your bags off at your accommodation, go and visit one of the famous cafes, enjoy one of their hand crafted unusual coffees, Chiang Mai is known for their amazing cafes.
- Enjoy walking around the beautiful city, if your up for some more temple hopping Chiang Mai has some of the best temples in the county.
- You must try the famous dish ‘khao soi’ for dinner!
Day 4
- This day is a super exciting one, today you will visit an elephant sanctuary where you will see the animals in their natural habitat.
Day 5 & 6
- Check out of your accomadtion, you will get picked up early to go on your jungle trekking experience, this excursion is not to be missed.
- You will stay with the Karen people, learn about their culture and learn some local language.
Day 7
- Now you have really experienced the north of Thailand its now time to experience what the south has to offer, fly down to Koh Samui.
- As you only have 2 weeks, I suggest flying if you book in advance you can get cheap flights.
- Check into your accommodation in Koh Samui, I suggest staying in Chaweng area. Lots of atmosphere, you can chill out at the white sand beach or enjoy a beach club.
Day 8
- The island has great restaurant choices enjoy one for brunch/lunch.
- Koh samui is big for Muay Thai boxing, take a class learning the sport it’s fun and a great work out! You can also go and watch a match at the stadium, they have matches on every night.
Day 9
- Take a day trip to Ang Thong National Park, go snorkelling, do the hike to the amazing view point overlooking the island and if your lucky you might spot a dusky langur monkey!
- Visit Si Khao local food night market, very affordable and lots of options.
Day 10
- Take the ferry to Koh Pha-ngan. Check into your accommodation and rent a scooter or catch a ride on the local tuk tuk.
- If you can’t decide where to eat check out the food court, here you will find everything from Thai food, vegan food to Italian food you will be spoilt for choice.
- Spend the evening at Amsterdam bar to watch the amazing sunset.
Day 11
- Try to time it right and you could catch the famous full moon party or the half moon party. The whole island gets involved, its a great atmosphere!
- If you don’t fancy the crazy party, you could have a chilled evening at Alcove restaurant, great food and live music.
Day 12
- Catch the early ferry to Koh Tao, check in to your accommodation, grab your snorkel and head straight to one of the stunning beaches. The island is famous for the snorkelling/diving. If your lucky you could see turtles and reef sharks (dont worry they’re friendly ones!)
- Choose one of the amazing restaurants to have dinner in.
Day 13
- Koh Tao has many cafes to have brunch in, wake up and start your day off right!
- Spend your day on the water, enjoy the beach, snorkel or paddle board.
- If partying is your thing the island does a great pub crawl, you will make lots of new friends and have a night to remember!
Day 14
- Enjoy your last morning on the beautiful island and start your travel back to the airport, take the ferry to Koh Samui and then fly via there.
- Hopefully these 2 weeks will leave you wanting to re visit this amazing country!
- For booking flights I always search on Kayak first to check flight prices. We last flew to Thailand with Gulf Air and found the airline to be very reasonable.
