Bookshop/Record Store Tour
Bookshop/Record Store Tour
Faatimah Travels ✈️

I have a friend who LOVES books and records, so for her birthday, I created a list of easily walkable book and record stores in Lower Manhattan.
Each stop was less than ten minutes walk from the last, and the pace left us enough time to browse each store to our hearts' content. We ended the day with two dinner stops - Malay and Thai cuisines (why choose one when you can have both?!).

Small in size, but wide in range. This bookstore's collection of used books was surprisingly vast! I picked up a copy of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night in great condition (and at a discount too!).

It's a tiny store located on a quiet block, but don't judge a shop by its size (after all, records don't take up that much space). One can easily spend an hour here - if you don't find what you're looking for, at the very least you may be entertained by funny cover art!

One way traffic to a dead end is the layout of this incredibly small bookstore. And yet, I managed to walk out of here with three books after doing some digging!

"Chic writer vibes" was my first thought after entering this bookstore. It was giving college campus center, with a bookstore, cafe, and clothing all being sold in the same two level open space. I love that they have tables and chairs - it makes the space feel a little less hectic.

This two story record shop is a must visit for all record lovers and music history buffs. The upstairs has records in most contemporary genres, while the basement houses cds, posters, and other types of music merch.

Hello, Salaams, and Welcome! My name is Faatimah, I am a frequent international traveller who constantly seeks to expand my boundaries through travel.
I love helping others find great deals on flights and excursions. I have been skydiving, horseback riding, kayaking, biking, and more. When I travel I like to get a taste of the culture by visiting museums, taking dance/music/cooking classes, or going on walking tours led by locals.
One of my passions when traveling is finding and photographing cool street art, murals, and graffiti. (Check out my Instagram for tons of art photos from over a dozen cities worldwide.)
Whenever my friends mention traveling, I'm the one with the color-coded budget and info sheets ready to go! I am well-versed in planning for Muslims (and Muslim women in particular). This includes finding mosques, places to pray, sites of Islamic history/ Islamic significance, and halal eateries.
Check out my page for free and paid guides (new guides added weekly!), or send me a message for personalized services.
I am beyond excited to help you plan a trip that helps you achieve your travel goals.
