Easy access to many different small towns around the southern portion of the lake. The train that runs from Varenna from Como however goes all the way to Colico (a far northern portion of the lake).

Water

The ferry system on Lake Como runs throughout the entire lake. While the ferries do take longer to arrive at your destination they are worth the wait for the beautiful views and sights during the ride. If you are looking for a quicker water transportation they do have faster boats that make less stops. There are also a few water taxi companies along the lake that you can pay a higher price for faster transportation or small group transportation.

Fiumelatte
@Ehuerta
Just a 15-20 minute walk from Varenna you can find the River Fiumelatte (aka the milk river). A gorgeous river that only runs between the months of March and September/October.
