In summer 2023, I spent a whole month volunteering in a hostel in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. I will go as far as to say that that month is part of the highlights of my life. You can imagine that in a month, you discover quite a few spots. So let me show you where you can eat on a budget for a full day in Las Palmas.
This map contains :

OAKBERRY AÇAÍ - Mesa y López
@taha_bens
After an early morning surfing session on the weekend, this was the spot to go to regain all the burned calories and get the day going.
If you're not familiar with Açai, it is a Brazilian snack made out of frozen and mashed Açaà fruit. I 100% recommend! The smallest bowl goes for €7, but it sure does fill you up.

TKO Tacos Sagunto

Have you ever had a €1 Taco ? Before I've been to this place, me neither. It is right along the Las Canteras beach coast. After an afternoon of sun bathing and playing football and volleyball, you go enjoy your €1 tacos.

100 Montaditos
@taha_bens
Just a few minutes from our last spot, we find this franchise that I stumbled upon in a few European cities now. The concept is a menu of 100 sandwich/snack options from 1-2€. And of course, a 40-cl beer for €2. What more do you need for the rest of the evening before you come back to your hostel for a shower ?

Restaurante Sakura Hanami

After saving up on the other meals, we'll enjoy the end of our night with an all-you can eat Asian buffet for €17. You better bring some friends to keep the competition going!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Taha Benslimane
Hi! 👋🏼 I’m Taha, a computer science student and aspiring full-time traveler, currently on an exchange program in Turin, Italy.
My journey began when I left Morocco to study in Montpellier, France. Solo travel soon stole my heart, making me a better, wiser, and more fun person with each trip. I've now explored over 10 countries and aim to reach 25 by the time I’m 25!
As a student with a limited budget, my trips aren’t the most luxurious, but they’re full of real connections and authentic vibes. That’s when I realized the difference between being a traveler versus a tourist. I started sharing my trips on Instagram to inspire others around my age to experience the world authentically.
So, what can you expect from my page? The best guides and itineraries for solo travelers that include hostels where to stay, bars where to hang out, festivals to go to, and hidden cool places that don’t show up on the first Google search I only discovered through recommendations from the locals. Also, if you need a customized itinerary, I can even help plan your trip and save you hours of research. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any doubts!
