Glaswegian History📖

University of Glasgow
@travelswithmissworldwide
Founded in 1451, making it the 4th oldest university in the UK, Glasgow University is truly an architectural sight to behold. Just to name a few graduates that have emerged from this university, Adam Smith, James Watt, Gerard Butler, Emeli Sandé, Niccola Sturgeon, and so forth. I was grateful to add to that legacy in November of 2022!

Gallery of Modern Art
@travelswithmissworldwide
Another lovely, free museum to visit in Glasgows City Centre. The fun fact about this particular location is the Equestrian statue of the Duke of Wellington. Glaswegians have a silly relationship with traffic cones. If you're lucky, you might find a traffic cone atop the horse or the Duke himself. Some say this is in part to the alcohol consumption on a night out. I like to think it's a silly tradition that caught on and hasn't stopped. Keep an eye out for traffic cones on statues in Glasgow, they are everywhere!
