I would recommend renting a car for this guide as you will be able to move more freely than on a scheduled guided tour. The Highlands and the Isle of Skye are locations that you will want to indulge in hiking and taking your time with the amazing scenery. Be sure to pack all the necessary gear to be able to hike in potentially wet or cold settings. You will not be able to enjoy yourself if you are not properly dressed for the brisk Scottish cold.
