Hey! Tulum, Mexico is quickly becoming one of THE places to visit, mixed with "sister" like places like Bali and Ibiza.
There are many things to do in Tulum and very different crowds too. It can be spiritual- you get off the bus or arrive in town and quickly smell the incense and see the architecture Tulum is known for, blending ocean, jungle, and nature into a seamless design.
You can also party like it's not Monday- there are many beach clubs and popular festivals such as Zamna, amazing place to take in dance, techno and soft house surrounded by the jungle and nearby cenotes (underground water caves)
Also, you can meet people who have made this place their base, locals who have seen the rise of the town, the authenticity that lies below the popular crowds. There are many positive road signs and places to stop for a picture that's already perfect because you're in it. :)
Enjoy this free guide to the most Instagramable places along the Hotel Zone in Tulum (can be self-done, just ask someone passing by. People are quite friendly :)
Step 1: Get yourself a bike or scooter. Prices may start at 600 MXN (35 USD) during high season
Famous for its jungle design, Sfer Ik (museum) and Azulik have a gorgeous design to visit. There's also a free entrance to the beach right beside Azulik. It's a bit hidden, so look out. Highly recommended for sunset☀️
This is one of the first positive messages you'll see in this area. Stay Present and Embrace the Mystery on either side. Plus, you'll get your first real peek at the gorgeous, baby blue color of the Mexican Caribbean
One of the free beaches in Tulum, this spot is a great mix of locals and tourists. You can hike the boulder jutting out into the ocean for a great view
This beautiful sculpture done by Southafrican artist Daniel Popper shows the connection between people and nature and is inside Hotel Ahau. Nowadays, a fee is required to see the sculpture (around 30 USD)
Probably the sign that first led me to Tulum, this famous street sign is a bit down the hotel zone but it gives more space for exploring.

And there you have it! As long as you're deep in the hotel zone, and made it this far, here's a bonus: Dos Ceibas is a hotel that offers a free entrance to the beach and with reasonable prices to hang out. Enjoy! ☀️
