Sunset Grill is a classic Duck staple restaurant. You'll find amazing waterfront seating right on the sound, or if you're really feeling adventurous in a boat on the sound. The raw bar features locally and same day caught oysters that are a must have and the diner and lunch menus feature plenty of fresh seafood. Along with the beautiful views and delicious oysters, a major draw for this location is its fun cocktail menu. All of their cocktails come in themed souvenir cups like a shark head or coconut!

4. NC Coast Grill and Bar

NC Coast is a quintessential outer banks restaurant, focusing on local foods and flavors. This is another lovely waterfront restaurant, but even if you don't get a seat outside you are not missing out on a view. NC Coast makes the kitchen and bar part of the dining experience inside. The menu here is really diverse and will allow for everyone in your family to find something they love

3. Bangkok Thai

What better way to enjoy the fresh seafood that surrounds you in the outer banks than by enjoying some fresh sushi. Bangkok Thai Sushi is the best place in the outer banks to go for sushi, serving up gourmet and omakase sushi along with some of the pest Thai noodles I've had. This restaurant is also located in a lovely outdoor shopping area called Scarborough faire, making for a great dinner at the end of a lovely evening of shopping. Pro-tip: Try to make a reservation for the evening early in the day as it tends to fill up closer to diner time.

2. Aqua

Aqua is a lovely upscale meal that you can enjoy right on the scenic waterfront of the sound. Enjoy duck breast, scallops, and crab cakes along with a glass of one of their 115 wines and 15 craft cocktails. Whatever you chose to eat for diner, be sure to save room their AMAZING vanilla creme brulee cheesecake. If you aren't looking for a big meal, Aqua also features an outdoor bar starting at 11am.

1. Duck Donuts

If you do one thing while in the Outer Banks, make it eating a fresh, custom donut here at the original duck donuts. There is no taste better than a warm and fresh donut! You're able to mix and match from a list of icings, toppings, and drizzles allowing you to be the creator of you're ideal bite. After you've ordered, head over to the pick-up area and watch your donut being fried and topped right in front of your eyes. It is always a great way to start the morning! (I recommend this for an early bird day, to beat the crowds)
