The AV1 begins at the far side of the lake. Definitely plan to stay here, at Hotel Pragser Wildsee, before the hike. The hotel website says there is a 3 night minimum, but they were happy to accommodate us for two nights pre hike. It was nice to enjoy the quiet lake in the late afternoon after all the day tourists have left.
